This Little Light
Neonatal Bereavement Photography
The loss of a pregnancy, regardless of gestation, is a tragedy. Whether your baby was born sleeping or left us shortly after birth, I offer completely free photography services to aid in the grieving process. These sessions are done in 3 optional parts, all of which together take about an hour total: the first is a lifestyle session of the parents and/or family holding baby, holding one another, taking some time together in whatever way that looks. The second is a styled newborn session, complete with beautiful baskets, wraps, headbands, and accessories. The third is called neonatal immersion photography, or NIP. This is a technique that utilizes saline and a clear bathtub to allow me to capture some really beautiful, "life in the womb" like images of babies that were born between 18-28 weeks or so.

FAQ
How many pictures will we receive?
This varies! The price you see listed above is the cost of your session fee, and includes 5-10 images of your choosing. Additional images can be purchased for $20 each, or 50% of the cost of the whole gallery if you purchase them all.
How will our photos be delivered to us?
All of my sessions include a 100% online photo gallery of full quality images! This makes it super easy for you to download and print the ones you want to keep forever with a click of a button.
What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?
Age wise, ideally before baby is one month old, though I will do newborn sessions up to 6 weeks after birth. In terms of time of day, it really depends on your baby's schedule. We can talk more extensively about this when you book with me!
How many people can I have in a session?
My maximum number of subjects in most cases is 5. In rare circumstances, I will allow parties larger than 5 participants, but I do usually charge an extra fee for parties larger than 5.
Do you have a studio?
No! I do not. While studio sessions can be wonderful for some folks, and I have some experience using studio sets, I find that my best work comes from more documentary style sessions, which are hard to do from a studio.
Do you do weddings?
I do, though I typically only take on 1-4 weddings a year. Please reach out for pricing!
